A "Jersey girl," Karen L. Schnitzspahn was born and raised in The Garden
State and has lived at the Monmouth County, New Jersey, shore for most of
her life. She has been doing freelance writing about regional history for
over twenty years and is the author or co-author of eight books, two
commemorative books, and numerous articles. The history of the American
theater is one of her special interests and her most recent book is Stars
of the New Jersey Shore, A Theatrical History (Schiffer Publishing, 2007).
She was the recipient of the 2007 Jane G. Clayton award "for her
outstanding efforts to preserve the history of Monmouth County." Prior to
her writing career, Karen worked as a professional puppeteer and designed
educational puppet shows for children that were used statewide. These
included programs for Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention and other topics
related to health and the environment. Her hobbies include reading,
tennis, painting and sculpting. Karen and her husband Leon enjoy traveling
and being grandparents. She intends to keep writing about history and
would love to do some books for children.

An all day (8:30-3:00) business learning seminar hosted by Integra Health Solutions and sponsored by
Princeton University, NAWBO-CJ, and ABS (Associated Business Solutions). The event will be held at the Frist Campus Center at
Princeton University on 11/18. Sessions on Writing a Business Plan, Financing, Public Relations, Networking and Internet Marketing
will be presented. Although free to attendees, registration will be required.
